ELB DIGGER Anchor  ELB DIGGER  Story

An “Elb Digger” is a dock worker who digs deeper for real treasures. The river Elbe has carried goods from all over the world to Hamburg, St. Pauli ever since. Back in the 60s, down on the harbour you could buy the freshest catch right of the boat.

“There is so much good music out there that we can't play on our vinyl nights”. Driven by the love of diggin’ vinyl and their devotion to Ska, Soul & Rock ’n’ Roll, three guys joined forces in 2016 and connected with their musician friends all over the world to promote authentic music on vinyl.

“A lot of the bands go their way without a label and have often times not the possibility to press vinyl - and yeah, the digital world offers plenty of ways to get heard but at the same time it generates an overload and a lot of great nuggets simply get lost in the flood.”

Elb Digger's goal is not to press everything they can get their hands on but to dig deeper for some real floor filling dance treasures that get washed up on the shores of river Elbe. “Through the years we met so many great musicians that had nothing to sell on their shows - a missed opportunity!” The digital world helps to promote but cannot substitute a physical medium like a 7" single or even a whole album on vinyl. Dig it.
